The FactSheet below presents a selection of key points from the Republican Platform, translated into plain English. Following the FactSheet are links to informative articles regarding Agenda 47, Trump’s own “platform.”
Background
The Republican Platform for 2024 uses Trumpian language and ideas from Project 2025. These ideas range from extending the 2017 tax cuts for the rich, to enacting mass deportation of undocumented workers, to restricting voting rights, to giving preferential treatment to one religion, to eliminating laws that protect our environment, health, and safety–and much more.
The Republican Platform is filled with lies, distortions, and puffy meaningless statements you’d get marked down for in freshman composition, as well as bizarre capitalization and rambling syntax. Fortunately, it’s short—less than a third the length of a typical party platform statement. But apart from the Trumpian word salad, nearly everything in the Platform appears in the Project 2025 report, Mandate for Leadership1.

Agenda 47
Agenda 47 has elements of the Republican Platform and Project 2025. Learn more about it from these articles:
- Agenda 47 from Wikipedia. “Agenda 47 (styled by the Trump campaign as Agenda47) is the manifesto of the Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump, which details policies that would be implemented upon his election as the 47th president of the United States. Agenda 47 is a collection of formal policy plans of Donald Trump, many of which would rely on executive orders and significantly expanded executive power. The main critiques of the platform have focused on its increasing climate change, its worsening public health, its legality, its feasibility, the risk of more inflation, and threat of authoritarianism.”

- The Republican Platform omits Project 2025’s explicit opposition to abortion and its threat to restrict all birth control, apart from “natural methods” like the rhythm method. Why? Because Republicans know their victory in overturning Roe v Wade is deeply unpopular with the majority of Americans and don’t want to call attention to their attacks on women’s health care and plans to interfere with every American’s personal family choices. ↩︎
